sociable，social
这一对形容词都有“社交的”意思，但涵义和使用场合不同。
Sociable表示“爱交际的”、“社交性的”和“善交际的”意味。例如：
Mr．Liang is a very sociable person．
梁先生是个很爱交际的人。
This is a sociable house party held by his father．
这是他父亲举办的家庭恳亲会。
Social表示“社会的”、“社会性的”、“有关社会的”意味。如：social problem（社会问题）、social life（社会生活）、social science（社会科学）、social welfare（社会福利）、social morality（社会道德）。例：
These are the social duties that you should perform．
这是你们应尽的社会义务。
What caused the city's social morality to degenerate？
是什么促使城市的社会道德恶化？
值得注意的是，social和sociable都能用作名词，作“联欢会”解，英国人用social，而美国人多用sociable，如：
The club organizes monthly socials/sociables for its members．
