Some people claim that many things that children are taught at school are a waste of time. Other people argue that everything children study at school is useful at some time.

Discuss both of these views and give your opinion.

Some people are skeptical about the usefulness of many things that children learn at school. Their opponents believe that everything taught at school will one day show their use. Between these two contrasting views, the latter aligns more closely with mine.

* 第1句话回应了题目中给出的第1个观点，第二句话回应了题目中给出的另一个观点，于是前两句话完全覆盖了题目中提及的信息。

* 第三句话说明了老章在题目中给出的两个观点中偏向其中一个（后一个）。至此，开头段落的功能完成了。

※ 文脉逻辑维度(CC)

* 第二句话的主语“their opponents”（“反对者”）是第1句话中“some people”的反对者，于是第二句话就和第1句话产生了联系，构建了文脉。

* 第三句话上来“between these two contrasting views”概括了前两句话，把第三句话与第1、二两句话联系起来，使得整个段落的文脉连贯。

* skeptical 是形容词 意思是“持有怀疑态度的”。第1句话把题目中给出的内容理解为“对有用性产生怀疑”，既回应题目的意思，又在措辞上有变化。
