devote主要表示“把……献给(用在)……”，通常只用作及物动词。表示把时间、金钱、精力、劳力、生命等奉献于……，或专心于或致力于……。常与介词 to 连用(注意不要将此介词误认为是不定式符号)。主要用于以下结构：
