During one of the holidays, I visited the Forbidden City in Beijing with my family. It's a huge palace complex that used to be where emperors lived long ago.
When we arrived, I was amazed by the large numbers of tourists there. It seemed like people from all over the country had gathered at this place. The tourists were doing different things inside the Forbidden City. Some were exploring the palaces and listening carefully to their tour guides, learning interesting stories about history and the buildings. Others were taking pictures to capture special moments. I also saw lots of families having a great time together, and I’m sure the kids will remember the experience.
The reason why so many people visit the Forbidden City is because it is very important historically and culturally. As a famous heritage site, it attracts many visitors who want to learn about ancient Chinese history. The Forbidden City also represents the best of ancient Chinese architecture and art, and it shows how powerful and important emperors were in the past. People come here to admire the beautiful palaces, gardens, and valuable treasures. What’s more, the Forbidden City is located in the centre of Beijing, making it easy to reach for both locals and tourists. Finally, perhaps due to the holiday season, there were more tourists in the Forbidden City than usual.
