  Task 1

  The three pie charts below show the changes in annual spending by a particular UK school in 1981, 1991, and 2001.

  Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

  「Introduction」

  The pies illustrate a particular school's expenses on five categories in three separate years in Britain.

  「Max. + Min.」

  Most apparently, compared with + insurance, which received least money, teachers’ salaries held the largest proportions in three separate years. // To be more specific, the year of 1991 witnessed that + the teaching staff received half of the whole school’s expenditure as their payment (非“机械式”地描述数据,而是写出了“动感”,即:数据后体现出的facts). By marked contrast, a mere 2% and 3% of the whole overheads was allocated to insurance in 1981 and 1991 respectively.


  「The rest three categories」

  In 2001,(活用时间点加个定从,不要轻易丢了得分点)when the proportion was 15%, other staff’s salaries became smaller than in 1981 (28%) and in 1991 (22%). // Resources cost differently in the three years. Noticeably, one fifth of the school’s total spending was used in 1991, and the school allotted as much as a half of the total expenditure to the items in 2001. //(小作文也可以套路一下)The similar variation could be found in the spending on furniture and equipment: the respective proportions were 15% in 1981, 5% in 1991, and 23% in 2001.(年份跳跃,难以直接“增减”,词穷了,直接偷个懒数据罗列一下也无妨。)


  「Overview」

  Overall, the school’s expenditure varied from category to category in three separate years.

  本文注意事项:

  Ø 写出数据背后的事实,小作文也可以“动感”十足,而非机械描述。

  Ø 句型的多样性表达,如何切换主语。


  Task 2

  In many countries, there is not enough recycling of waste materials (e.g. papers, glass, cans). What are the reasons and solutions?

  【审题】

  不去过分解读recycle一词所代表的深层含义,只去从表面上理解“回收不够”其实就是我们现实生活中常见的垃圾/废物满地的社会现象。过度考虑可能会想出如“回收技术(科技角度)不够发达”等,这种思考维度就容易将考生自己逼上一个(词句层面的)行文下不去的尴尬境地。当然,想要追求task response层面新颖度的同学,可以一试。


  「Introduction」

  It is amodern-day commonplace that various waste materials can be seen in streets and lanes. // <交代一下笔者的写作意图-找到背后原因及提出可行方案> There are a minimum of two motivators, and, hopefully, such issue can be well addressed.


  「Reasons」

  <“纵向”的行文展开-先总写后解释 strong="" argument=""> Primarily, individuals should be blamed. → <细节解释一下为什么>This is mainly because they do not realize the importance ofnot leaving a footprint on earth, thus failing to form the habit of getting daily refuses properly recycled. → <必要的elaboration一定不能省>With the economic growth advancing rapidly in thisconsumption society, they have easier access to a wider scope of commodities, under which circumstance they may just <呼应前面的消费型社会,在这其中“丢弃”文化很盛行> throw away the worn ones instead of recycling the used materials such as household appliances.。

  //Additionally, the lack of recycling facilities acts as a catalyst for such phenomenon. By this I mean,even if people have raised the awareness of preserving environment,it is quite difficult for them to get wastes recycled appropriately owing to the scarcity of recycle bins.


  「Solutions」

  Considering the severity of this issue, two corresponding measures are in dire need. // <开始针对原因一写措施一> Since most individuals are not so well-educated and not informed to handle with the waste items, the top priority is for local councils or related experts to give lectures on how to recycle waste materials properly. In this case, people can be aware that their daily behavior actually makes a marked difference to our environment, which can help preserve our Mother Nature. / <开始针对原因二写措施二> Secondly, the tension of the issue can be eased by increasing the number of dustbins in public areas. In this case, thedisposal of waste materials becomes more accessible.


  「Conclusion」

  Since the reasons have been enumerated above, this issue, as a matter of fact, is never insoluble as long as the concerted actions are taken by both governments and individuals.
