Employers should give their staffs at least four weeks’ vacation a year to make employees better at their jobs.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

这个题目

学生写道如下一句：

It is certain that some employers do hold adverse opinions to annually four-week holidays for employees.

* 用主语从句强调这个现象是certain，虽然在意义上没问题，但是在表达上其实可以简化。

* some employers do hold adverse opinions中的do其实多余，不需要通过“的确/确实”来强调hold adverse opinions的确定性。

* annually吗？

看下面

教师修改意见：

There must be employers who think unfavorably of the proposed four-week annual leave for employees.

* 句子的信息的顺序好像没有很大变化，但是细节处改动挺大的。更重要的是，句子的宏观结构改成了there be句型。原句中雇主的行为改成了定语从句。整个句子的结构变成了“肯定有什么样的雇主”。

* 用must去表达原句中想要的certain的意义。

* think unfavorably of something中，用了think of表达“看待”的意思。

* 其它一些细节的改动，如果不是一定优于原句的表达，也是换一种思路，和更贴近地道的表达方式。

小总结：

* 确定想要表达的意思之后，在句子结构和各个细节之处见地道。
