“Go bananas”可千万别翻译成“香蕉，我们走”，超级尴尬！

"go bananas" 是一句非常地道的口语表达，你知道这句话是什么意思吗？

看到这里，一些小伙伴可能会问北美君了，那为什么不是go orange或是go apple，又或者是其他什么别的水果呢？

要说为什么是香蕉会跟疯狂、生气挂上钩呢？其实，这里有个比较形象的比喻，原来这个习语的来源是这样的：

大家都知道猴子是香蕉的动物了，他们只要见到香蕉就会兴奋得又叫又跳。另外，猴子喜欢香蕉，看见就上蹿下跳的，甚至因为一只香蕉而大家，后来就被引申为发疯。

因此，go bananas的两层含义由此而来，分别是：

1) to go or act a little crazy

    行为举止疯狂、狂热

2) to become very angry 

    变得非常生气

Example#1:

When it comes to animal rights, some people go bananas.

说到动物权利，有些人的行为有点疯狂。

Example#2:

I'll end up going bananas if I have to work in this cubicle for one more day!

如果我呆在这个小空间里多工作一天的话，我会疯掉的。

在美剧《生活大爆炸》里面，导演要解雇Penny时，她辩解道： 

Penny: What? You can't fire me. I'm the star. I'm the girl that goes bananas. It says so on the poster.

-什么？你不能解雇我，我可是主演啊！我是"疯妹子"，电影宣传海报上写着呢！

Director: Yeah, but we just shot the last scene where we see your face. So from now on, the star of the movie is whoever wears this.

-但刚才已经拍完了你露脸的最后一场戏。所以从现在开始，谁戴这个谁就是主演。
